Hey guys,so if you follow my facebook, twitter, snapchat you will know that i have stared on a fitness challenge with Slimways. It has been my desire to get fit for quite a while now but my head wasn't really in the right place to go about it until now. I had never been to a gym,or to fitness classes as such for a number of reasons. When i was younger I didn't need it..I was fit and active. As i got older i went to the odd aerobics class in a community hall..that kind of thing. However after 2 back to back pregnancies both of which were very difficult and took a long while to recover from i needed to get fit. I was overweight for my frame and miserable in my own skin. I just wasn't happy with my body and got to the stage where things needed to change. This change started 2 weeks ago with Slimways. I am training there twice a week at the moment but will be going 3 times a week from next week. What appealed to me about Slimways was the fact that they do what is called Slimways Assembly Line Training. (S.A.L.T.) This brand new aerobic programme focuses on HIIT (High
Intensity Interval Training) and is guaranteed to offer constantly
changing and challenging routines. It is 15 mins in 4 specially designed rooms that varies from circuits to weights to spinning and then stretching and cool down. You have a different trainer in each room as well and I really like that. I'm the kind of person who if i had to spin for an hour I wouldn't push myself early on because i have the rest of the hour to go. So i love the fact that its only 15 mins..i can push myself totally and commit to the 15 mins because i know its gonna end really quickly and we will move on to something else. The trainers are fantastic ..they really explain everything and make sure your posture is correct for the squats and weight lifting.I will be doing regular blog updates here as well as little snippets on my facebook page Lipglossaddictcork
I am also doing snaps of my journey on snapchat (USERNAME lipglossaddictc) as well as instagram and twitter and i would love you all to follow my journey.

Equal -part 2 Body products
Hey guys ,so a while back I did a blog on EQUAL perfumes Ireland in midleton. That blog was all about perfumes, but this one is on their fab range of body products. I have over the last number of week been trying everything from bath bombs to shower gels and bubble bath and body lotions and hand creams. It been hard but someone has to do it hahaha.
Ok so the first thing I want to cover are the bath bombs...OMG they are fab totally comparable with Lush bath bombs but only a fraction of the price . I have had a few different ones and they all really soften the water and leave my skin really soft and not at all dried out.I must say my favourite one was a rose bath bomb with actual rose petals in it..how luxurious!!!!
The next products I want to mention are the bath/shower products and body lotions. These are lovely again they are not drying on the skin the bathing products do not strip the skin of essential moisture. They are handmade in the U.K.and are of really good quality. The body lotions glide onto the skin and sink in really quickly. The leave a beautiful scent on the skin which is subtle and they are not sticky or tacky. You can get dressed straight away after applying these body lotions. This is good because lets face it nobody has time to be hanging around waiting for body lotion to sink in.
The next product i want to mention is the hand lotion. This I absolutely loved..I had the rose water and argon oil and it was a real treat. It was very moisturising but not greasy. I found I was able to use this throughout the day and it didn't hinder me by being slippy or greasy .This is great as i have small kids my hands are always in and out of water.
The last product I want to talk about is the amazing Bar of SHAMPOO!!!! Yes you read that right its a solid bar of shampoo and its pretty cool. I didn't know what to expect when i used it but it worked really well even on my hair which is past shoulder lenght. It lathers up really well and leaves hair squeaky clean and smelling amazing. My hubby loved this product...well we both did to be fair once you get your head around it lol I tried the Solid Shampoo Bar in Thyme & Mint its is fragranced with pure essential oils for a beautiful natural fragrance. I did find that this shampoo did not strip my hair and it was left feeling beautifully soft .
Have you discovered this wonderful shop yet...the one I visited was in Midleton but there more opening up around Cork. A new shop is opening soon in Glanmire

Eyebrow Threading at The Body Shop Ireland
Hey Guys,
So a few weeks ago I posted that I was invited into the Body Shop in Cork to have my eyebrows threaded and tinted if I wanted. My eyebrows are naturally dark but bushy so I declined the tint but was excited to try out the threading.
Eyebrows are the main focus right now and you need to have them 'on point'. I normally pluck (when i have time ) and then every 6 months or so get them waxed to give the definition that i maintain by plucking. I had heard of Threading but never got around to trying it out ...until now.Threading has many advantages over waxing, its fast.suitable for all skin types even sensitive, its relatively painless ( i found it quite relaxing) and it does not cause ingrown hairs !!!.
Threading has been done for centuries in countries like India,Egypt but its relatively new practise here in Ireland. It is done using a cotton thread which is twisted and pulled along the hairs grabbing the unwanted ones in a twisted loop if you will. It removes the hair follicle and results can last longer than waxing (depending on your own hair growth)
Now my eyebrows grow like weeds..seriously its ridiculous how fast those buggers grow so i deliberately held off on this review so i could tell you guys how long it lasted.
I was threaded on the 9th June and i did not see any pesky hairs poking out until the 27 June and even then it was just a few. Its now the 1st July and ok they need to be done but nothing like how bad they would normally be after this lenght of time (caterpillars spring to mind!!!)
I was threaded by Uma who was so lovely and professional. There is a separate area of the shop designated for the threading which is nice and private .The first thing Uma did was to sanitise her hand and mine..I loved this because I am a clean freak..( I did used to work in a sterile environment so I've been conditioned lol) . We then discussed the look i was after and Uma set to work. Uma kept showing me in a mirror to check i was happy which I was..very happy indeed. It was all over very fast, and some cooling aloe vera was applied not that i need it to be honest there was no pain or stinging and wow the result was fantastic. A huge plus for me is that there was no redness, You know how after waxing you have 2 red blotchy strips across your face not with threading.
The threading bar at offers threading for a variety of areas and i will definitely be going back . On that note they also offer a loyalty card so if you are in there be sure and pick one up . Also while you just walk in and get threaded you can also book online here. Webite is so easy to use and you even get a reminder text the day before which i like beause we are all busy and appointments can be forgotton
I would highly recommend the thebodyshop for threading and i will be booking my next appoinment this week
Let me know if youve been threaded and how you found it xx

Trilogy Event in Cork in association with VIP magazine
Hey guys,
So last night I was lucky enough to attend the Trilogy Launch Event in association with VIP Magazine. This took place in the Market cafe in Perry street ,Cork city .This place is amazing the staff are great and the food is yummy.
We were greeted with Tia Maria cocktails, and glasses of Prosecco and invited to take our seats . Delious finger food was available throughout the night and the Prosecco was free flowing
Now I was really looking forward to this event because there is a lot of buzz about Trilogy in the beauty world at the moment. My attention was brought to the brand by The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton when it was reported she used the rosehip oil during her pregnancy for stretch marks!! If its good enough for Kate then its good enough for me...

A bit about Trilogy
The brand began in New Zealand back in 2002 and is now a world wide success. ( their iconic Rosehip oil is sold globally 1 every 39 seconds)
It was inspired by the discovery of the delicious, skin-loving properties of the golden oil extracted from rosehip seeds. An incredibly effective natural alternative to synthetic skincare ingredients, rosehip oil delivers real, visible results.
Trilogy believe skincare doesn't need to be complicated. Their products are created from simple and unique blends of the purest natural plant oils along with botanical extracts working in perfect harmony to restore and maintain the natural vitality and radiance of skin.
Trilogy is the first New Zealand skincare brand to achieve NATRUE Natural Cosmetics Certification. Founded in 2007, NATRUE is a Brussels-based international non-profit association committed to promoting and protecting natural and organic cosmetics worldwide. The NATRUE standard offers an independent guarantee. When you see this logo, you know what you’re buying is authentically natural and cruelty-free, to one of the world’s most transparent standards. This is a huge plus for me with the range.
After the talk from the Trilogy experts we were invited to make our very own Trilogy moisturiser.
This was a real highlight of the evening. We went in groups and all got a jiffy bag with a tub of solid oils a syringe and a Popsicle stick. Then the fun started it as we adding the boiling water and pumped our syringes like crazy women to mix the product. When the texture was right we added the Trilogy essential oils and voila..our very own face cream.
We were also gifted the Rosaphene night cream. Rosaphene combines nourishing rosehip oil with super antioxidants to help protect against the visible signs of ageing. Multi-vitamin goji berry extract aids regeneration while mineral rich manuka honey helps hydrate and repair. Sounds AMAZING...Cant wait to start using this product.
It was a fantastic evening to mix and mingle with the other Cork bloggers and of course the lovely ladies from Trilogy and VIP magazine.
Myself and MakemeupIreland ,The Beutmum, and Shellabelle
Myself and the fantastic Mary Jane A.K.A Glamity Jane (love her!!)
Thank you to Trilogy for our lovely goodie bags cant wait to try the products.and of course review will follow....stay tuned xx
